BIOGRAPHY
Julia Yeon-Joo Oh studied musicology in combination with violin and viola in Rouen (with Jane Peters and Jennifer Rio) and Paris (with Lise Berthaud) before completing her artistic and pedagogical BA and MA studies with viola as her main subject at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with Prof. Volker Jacobsen and Christian Pohl.
She has also gained valuable experience in master classes with renowned soloists and teachers such as Prof. Barbara Westphal, Gérard Caussé, Lise Berthaud, Annick Roussin, Christophe Poiget, Luc-Marie Aguera, Constantin Bogdanas, Marek Kowalski and others.
She has been teaching violin and viola since 2007. After her internships at the Musikschule Wunstorf and teaching positions at the Freie Waldorfschule Sorsum, American Embassy School New Delhi, the music schools in Elze and the Music College Hannover, she has been working at the Musikschule Wunstorf since 2020, where she additionally teaches orchestra and chamber music. She also gives private lessons in the Hanover area and regularly plays concerts in small chamber music ensembles as well as in chamber music ensembles.
